식염수를 사려면 우선 식염수를 독일어로 뭐라고 하는지를 알아야 한다.
그래서, 찾은 곳은 당연히 구글 번역.
발음은 대략 [살리네] 정도... 날 살려라!
그런데, Saline라는 것을 아무리 찾아도 없단다.
약국은 물론, 대형 마트까지 다 뒤졌는데...
숙소(호텔)에서 짧은 영어로 열심히 설명하니 Sailne 같은 단어는 모르겠고, 내가 찾는 건 kochsalzlösung란다.
물과 소금을 섞은 것으로, 눈이나 코, 컨텍트 렌즈 등의 세척용으로 쓰는 바로 그거...
당장 인근 약국으로 뛰어가 구매했다.

아... 구글 번역... 믿음이 사라져버렸다.
덧. kochsalzlösung를 다시 영어/한국어로 번역시켰더니, 무려 sodium solution과 나트륨 솔루션이란다. 헐~
심심해서 찾아 봤다는...
